 Creative Director and Founder Kylie not only stops to smell the roses but takes the time to photograph & draw them too. 

Kylie has always been drawn to big, bold blooms and lush foliage. Constantly collecting and photographing flowers on her wanderings, this is how each Obus floral begins it's journey.  

Having designed countless collectible florals, making each new print feel unique takes a special touch. ‘Field Of View’ was created while Kylie was on holiday with friends & family in Rye, Victoria.     

A mix of costal natives and garden favourites, this print is a beautiful, random posy. Combining Lavender, Geranium, Seaside Daisy and Yellow Broom (to name a few), Kylie often begins a print by making arrangements in vases to help decide which flower combinations work best together.

She then either draws organically onto an iPad, or prints a photograph and draws/traces on top of the photo. Translating distinctive markings, petal shapes and capturing colour.   

From individual digital drawings, Kylie experiments with scale, orientation and background colour. In this case, a Midnight black base created an energetic contrast.
